A monthly English magazine “Greenland Nagaland” was formally launched on January 26 at the Circuit House, Dimapur by minister of Forest and Climate Change, Justice and Law, Nagaland, C.M. Chang.
Speaking as the special guest at the launching programme, the minister felt that the magazine would go a long way and hoped that it would never fail. While appreciating the launching of the monthly English magazine in the state, Chang said that it should be a channel and a torch bearer for the benefit of the people.
Chang opined that Nagas were mostly confined within themselves with lesser focus on the outside world, whereby he expressed hope that the magazine would enable Nagas to explore more internally and externally to ensure the well-being and prosperity of the people.
Having confidence on the highly experienced editor, Dr. Swaraj Mukherjee and staff, the minister wished that it would continue to grow and reach greater heights. Citing example of the progress of local dailies in the state, he pointed out that the magazine should be apolitical, wherein people will accept and circulation will increase accordingly. He maintained that it should help enhance tourism and investment in the state and further urged the gathering to join hands to make the state prosper more.
Guest of honour, advisor Urban Development and Municipal Affairs department, Dr. Nicky Kire and editor of Greenland Nagaland, Dr. Swaraj Mukherjee also spoke during the programme. Programme was chaired by secretary DAN, Pangzangkokba, invocation was offered by assistant parish priest Holy Cross Dimapur, Rev. Fr. Yanpvuthung and vote of thanks was proposed by chairman DAN, A. Nyamnyei Konyak.
The magazine “Greenland Nagaland” is an initiative of the Development Authority Nagaland (DAN), an autonomous public sector organisation of Nagaland. The magazine focusses on “Taking Nagaland to the world and bringing the world to Nagaland”.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
