‘Kala Utsav 2019’ competition held in various districts

District level “Kala Utsav 2019” competition was organised by district education mission Samagra Shiksha in Zunheboto, Longleng and Mon on October 15. “Kala Utsav” is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India to promote arts in education, by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students.

Zunheboto: In Zunheboto the competition was held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Satakha wherein eight students qualified in various competition categories and are selected to partake in state level competition. 

A press release by DMA Zunheboto Samagra Shiksha informed that the competition was held in four categories namely, vocal music, instrumental music, dance and painting for both male and female students. Eight students (four males and four females) were selected to compete in the state level. The vocal competition, male and female, was won by Ghokivi K of GHSS Zunheboto and Alika of Shovishe Memorial School (SMS) Zunheboto respectively; instrumental music was won by Ghokivi K of GHSS Zunheboto; dance, male and female, was won by Ika Zhimo of GHSS Sathakha, Nito L Achumi of GHSS Aghunato and Akani I Aye of GHSS Satakha respectively; painting competition, male and female, was won by Kashito Jakhalu of GHSS Zunheboto and Kitoholi of SMS Zunheboto. The programme was chaired by coordinator EBRC Satakha, Atoli; invocation by GT, Samuel; speech on “Kala Utsav” by assistant district coordinator Zunheboto, Ahito and benediction by AT, Ghuvishe.

Longleng: Kala Utsav competition was held at EBRC hall Longleng, wherein altogether five government schools under Longleng district participated in the vocal music, instrumental music, dance and painting competition. Panel of judges were Chingdam, Tenhau, Bachem Buchem, Manchem. The programme was chaired by Akum Aventh and N. Henty Phom delivered the welcome address. The prizes for the winners were given by the Judges.

Mon: In Mon, the programme was held at district education office, conference hall. Winners who have been selected to represent Mon district for state level Kala Utsav competition were: Wangten. H of GHSS Tizit and W. Ngapsa of GHS Phomching in vocal music: L. Manphoa Konyak of   GHSS Tizit in Instrumental: Wangdao Konyak and Kinlong Konyak of GHSS Tizit in Dance: and Nokshen of GHSS Tizit and Nyejoi Konyak of Tizit GHS Tizit village in painting. Panels of judges were Ricky, Shelao, Nokshei, Nonkhao, Thomwang and Nginya. 

Altogether five schools participated in the competition in different category.
