‘No bloodshed to be allowed in Eastern Nagaland’

Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has resolved to reaffirm and uphold the December 18, 2007 Tuensang resolution that there should be no bloodshed, threat, intimidation or any form of violence within ENPO jurisdiction. 

At its Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting-cum-the 5th Reaffirmation of December 18 Tuensang Resolution held at Tuensang district headquarters on June 11 and 12, ENPO also reiterated the September 29, 2005 Longleng resolution for the safety and security of Eastern Nagaland leaders, that there must be no violence in any form like killing, kidnapping, physical assault, threat, intimidation, undue disturbances, etc, on its leaders, tribal leaders, frontal organisation leaders and innocent public by any armed cadres within ENPO jurisdiction. 

The House declared that ENPO would not extend any public cooperation to any faction or group for non-compliance in this regard.

The CEC meeting also resolved to meet Central leaders immediately to pressurise the government to expedite the process of creation of a separate State (Frontier Nagaland), besides deciding to abstain from participation in the Indian Independence Day celebration, if Government of India failed to respond to this demand on or before August 10, 2019.

Besides CEC members of six tribes and frontal organisations, the session was attended by Eastern Nagaland elected members and representatives from different Naga political groups (NPGs) of Eastern Nagaland region. This was stated in a press release issued by ENPO’s media cell.
