‘Rüziedzükhou’ well inaugurated at Kohima village

The renovated Rüziedzükhou (traditional well) was inaugurated on at T. Khel, Kohima village on May 25.  

Rev Kevimese Suohu blessed the programme with invocation followed by welcome address by Kelhousinyü Solo. The well was renovated by the Kenei peli-9 of T. Khel.  

Renovation committee convenor Khrietuo Belho shared a brief report about the renovation where he said that this well had helped many neighbours and the village people in the past years. In this regard, they came up with a plan to provide better, cleaner and easier space to make it convenient for all. He also thanked all the fellow contributors and well wishers.

A special number was presented by Ketuoravi-ü Solo, followed by speech by the guest of honour, T. Khel Council chairman Thepfuvilie Suohu where he stated that the peli had made the well come alive once again.  He thanked the peli who had thought about the society and made the place prettier and convenient for all.   

With the prevalence of water scarcity today, he encouraged all to all work hard and help each and preserve water.  He also encouraged all the other peli to plan and work for the betterment of the society.  

K. Neibou Sekhose mentioned that there were 63 men, 73 women in peli 9, wherein 42 have deceased. He said Rüziedzükhou along with other seven wells were dug together in the past years but Rüziedzükhou was one with the best source and had been providing to many households.
