‘Startup Nagaland boot camp’ in Wokha

The second phase of “Startup Nagaland boot camp” organised by the department of Industries & Commerce was held on August 17 at DBHSS Youth Centre, Wokha.

A press release by the department stated that the initiative was taken as part of the implementation of Nagaland Startup Policy 2019 and also in compliance with the Startup India Ranking Framework 2019 of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

In the first session, introduction of Startup Nagaland initiative and ideation workshop was conducted by members of Nagaland Startup Team, Joel Phucho; presentation on entrepreneurship development programme and schemes available under the department was given by functional manager, DIC Wokha, Jessy Jury and a motivational speech was delivered by Wokha District Entrepreneurs Association (WDEA) vice president, Zarenchi A Murry.

In the second session, the participant pitched their ideas in front of the judges and top three ideas were presented with certificate along with cash prize. 

The boot camp panel of judges were ADC Wokha, K. Mhathung Tsanglao and Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industries (WDCCI) president, Renpo Ezung.

Thungchobeni T. Ezung from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha won the first prize while Mhachan M. Tungoe from Mount Tiyi College, Wokha and Jenio Ezung from Mount Tiyi College, Wokha won the second and third prize respectively.

Participants from different schools and colleges and entrepreneurs under Wokha district attended the programme. The programme chaired by economic investigator, DIC Wokha, Mhachan N. Kikon concluded with vote of thanks by DIC Wokha, general manager, Nchumbemo Patton.
