‘The Wishess’ wins NE multimedia music competition

The Wishess from Manipur emerged as the winner of the 1st northeast multimedia music competition held at Kohima local ground on January 18.
The event was held as part of the first Northeast multimedia campaign where eight states are coming together to fight for a cause against HIV and AIDS.
The event was hosted by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), under the theme ‘North East United Against HIV and AIDS’
The Manipur band received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with the citation.
While Luli Yeptho & Band from Nagaland was adjudged as runners up and Roll Heads from Sikkim in third position. They received a cash of Rs 70k and Rs 50k respectively.
The other five NE bands who participated in the event included are The Megh (Arunachal Pradesh), Vanghmun 100 yrs Band (Tripura), Wreckless Shadow (Meghalaya), Jerry Lalrinawma (Mizoram) and Tyrrhenian from Assam.
principal secretary (H &FW) and NSACS chairman, Nagaland-I Himato Zhimomi, NACO deputy director general Dr. Naresh Goel and AHF India country program director-Dr. V Sam Prasad, present during the occasion and gave away the awards to the winners.
Some of the highlights of the events include theatre performance by Dreams Unlimited spreading the awareness about HIV and AIDS, while musicians like Moko Koza, Linka, Bozio Nienu and Guru Rewben Mashangva entertained the crowd.
