‘Yes To Life’ training for youth directors in Mon district

Konyak Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB) youth ministry in collaboration with Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) Mon held a one-day training of youth directors on “yes to life” at Mission Center Mon Church with DC Mon, Thavaseelan K as special guest on October 19.

According to DIPR report, DC said that “yes to life” will be a youth centric club with the aim to promote a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle. 

The club through activities like discussions, awareness programmes, sports, traditional activities and other social and religious programmes, will act as a means to encourage each other to lead a clean and healthy life. 

The members decided to lead an addiction free life, and act as positive reinforcement for their peers in the communities. 

The members through meeting, sharing/interactions, counselling can also encourage one another to overcome temptations and keep true to their pledge. Members of this club can also be nurtured and taught life skills, communication skills, leadership skills, through various activities at the village, sub divisional and district levels thereby grooming them to become productive members of the society.

The youth directors of the villages/towns will be given responsibility as the supervisors of “yes to life” club. The supervisor once trained will initiate the formation of the clubs in his/her village/town with the support of the village council, various civil bodies like students union and faith base on the colonies/khels/morungs to ensure closeness and feeling of oneness within the members from the same locality. Programme was chaired by Wangchah, youth secretary, KBBB, opening prayers by Rev. Metjen, finance secretary, KBBB while Dr. Chenjei Konyak convenor CoDAMP gave a brief introduction of “yes to life”. Short speech was delivered by Rev. M. Chemyuh, executive secretary, KBBB.
