Our God Almighty has bestowed His immeasurable love and mercy upon the Naga people.  On the occasion of 12th Naga Unification day, I convey deepest gratitude to our people for partnering with GPRN/NSCN in preserving our history and identity. The first decisive and genuine step towards Naga reconciliation and unity was taken on 22nd November 2007. Today, there are seven Naga national political groups known as Working Committee (WC) NNPG, preparing grounds to bring honourable and acceptable political solution to the Naga people.

Generations of leaders and followers have come and gone, giving their all for Nagaland. We have a purpose to fulfil and that is the reason why the Good Lord salvaged our beloved Nagaland from multiple tragedies in the last seventy years. I salute our pioneering leaders and comrades who gave their best during their time. They will ever inspire us through their valour, commitment and sacrifice. Today, there is no confusion about who we were, where we are and what we must do as a people and nation.

I salute the leadership of NSCN (Reformation), NNC/FGN, NNC(Parent Body), NNC/NPGN, NNC/GDRN and NSCN (Khango). God has worked a miracle in our midst and therefore leaving aside our differences, we are working together. We have answered the call of the Nagas and entered into a political dialogue with the Government of India (GOI) as Working Committee (WC) of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs).  There will always be elements who will try to belittle, defame and devalue the hardwork put in thus far, however,as equal partners representing our people we have firmly declared our stand on the principle of 1951 plebiscite. On 17th November 2017, the GOI and the NNPGs working Committee signed a political document stating that the government of India recognises the historical and political rights of the Nagas to self determine their future in consonant with their distinct identity.

If there is any political document closer to Naga plebiscite of 1951, it is the 17th November 2017 declaration of agreed positions between the GOI and the NNPGs.The prayer support and co-operation of our people has been consistent, we believe we can fulfil the Naga people’s aspiration.

It is the ardent desire of WC, NNPGs that all Nagas must set aside their differences and come together as equal partners and, considering the practical reality of our existence, set about restoring confidence and trust among our  people living in our ancestral land in Nagaland, part of Manipur, Part of Arunachal Pradesh and Part of Assam. Decades of political daydreaming are over. Reality is staring at us, Idealism and philosophical politics do not conform with truth at hand. The political and historical rights of Nagas in these states must be recognised by neighbouring communities. WC, NNPG is clear that there will be no master or servant after the agreement. There will be mutual respect among the Naga leaders. All must work under God for the good of our people.

We acknowledge the unceasing effort, solidarity and contributions of the Naga civil societies, primarily NGBF and all federating units, NTC and Peace mediation committee, CNTC, 14 (Fourteen) Tribal Hohos, Minorities, Student bodies, Naga elders, Intellectuals, Naga mothers, Inter-denominational churches and prayer houses far and near. The co-operation and partnership has made tremendous impact and we shall continue our common journey together and engage with the GOI till honourable and acceptable, enduring peace comes to our land.

God Bless Nagaland!
