Fourteen-member team of 13th Common Review Mission (CRM) led by advisor, Human Resource Health (HRH), National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC), New Delhi, Mona Gupta reached Nagaland on October 17 to monitor the health sector of the state.

A press release by National Health Mission (NHM) Nagaland stated that a state briefing was held at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on the same evening wherein Gupta advocated CRM as an important monitoring mechanism where the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare along with other allied departments and the state come together to find solution for the existing challenges.

Gupta informed the team was looking forward to support and supervise rather than find faults.

Stating that changes for any existing challenges would come from within the state alone, Gupta said, “Solution will not come from Delhi; it will come only from Nagaland”.  She, therefore, said it was necessary to have open communication within the team and the state to find out the challenges.

Gupta also motivated her team to look at Nagaland from a different angle keeping in mind the entire local scenario and find out what could be the best solution.

Principal Secretary H&FW, Nagaland, Ramakrishnan expressed gratitude for the positive outcome of CRM visit and stated that it would help Nagaland to boost the health care.

The program was chaired by principal director, department of health & family welfare, Nagaland, Dr. Vikeyie Losu and a state presentation was made by mission director, National Health Mission, Nagaland, Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru.

The 14-member CRM team would be divided into two groups and will visit the districts of Kiphire and Phek from October 18-23.
