14 tribes laud GoI, negotiators for working hard

DIMAPUR, OCT 9 (NPN) | Publish Date: 10/9/2019 10:52:27 AM IST

Fourteen tribes of Nagaland had recently called on governor RN Ravi and appreciated Government of India (GoI) and the negotiators for working hard to resolve the Naga issue.

In a statement, the tribes mentioned that towards this end, it was now expedient upon the negotiators not to further hold up with impediments but strive with commitment to ink the agreement through a unified stance in response to the cry of the people and their sentiments.

They felt that the solution should be worked out at the earliest, while the unresolved issues should be continued to be deliberated upon for their resolution in a specified time-bound manner through non-violent, democratic and universally acceptable means.

The tribes also appreciated and acknowledged the selfless sacrifices and contribution of national organisations and workers for keeping alive the Naga political issue over the past many decades and for taking the Naga political movement thus far whereby the unique history of Naga people had been acknowledged by GoI.
