16th Phek town inter-colony tourney begins

The 16th Edition of the Phek Town Inter-colony tournament cum Sukrunye organized by the Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) on the theme “Forging Excellence” started at Phek town local ground Wednesday with Superintendant of Police (SP) Phek Vesupra Kezo gracing the inaugural function as tournament guest.

Speaking at the event, Vesupra Kezo lauded the PTYS for persistently organizing a huge inter-colony tournament every two years enabling youth to showcase sporting talents. He said that participation in sports built a good relationship and productive in community and the society develop at a very fast pace and reduces crimes.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by PTYS advisor Shekhozo Rhakho, welcome note was delivered by PTYS president Neizote Venuh and BHBC pastor Rev. Novosayi Vese invoked a God’s blessings. A special number presented by Kukhruno Khamo. An oath taking was administered by PTYS games and sports secretary Nuvota Tsutso. Altogether, 11 colonies are participating in the tournament. 

The tournament would conclude on January 15, 2020 coinciding with Sukrunye Festival, which would be graced by Dr. Kuvezochi Hoshi, general secretary (Central) NDPP, as sukrunye guest.
