1st Hip Hop festival on Aug 17

 The first Hip Hop festival is all set to be held in Nagaland organised by Table 3 in collaboration with Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) on August 17 at RCEMPA hall, Jotsoma. 

This was announced in a press conference held on Friday at FIFA cafe by the Table 3. 

Organizing committee director, LC Sekhose informed that the event will be the first Hip Hop festival in Nagaland consisting of raps, beatbox, BMX dance and special DJ performances.  He also stated that the platform is to promote local artists who had not been recognised which aimed at exposing positive side of Hip Hop culture in a professional level. 

They hoped that it would send positive outcome which would send a message to all those to have a negative mindset about Hip Hop performance. Hip Hop artists are also God gifted talents and it can be used to glorify God, it added. 

A special performance will be preseneted by the Kohima Orphanage Destitute Home. Commenting on this, Sekhose said that when they visited the orphanage, they saw many talents on children that need to be explored. Many of them had talents in singing and one of them will be rapping too, he stated. 

The performance will have three beat boxers, one BMX stund group, one dance group, one DJ and eight rappers.  

Table 3 is a group of 9 collective artists who aimed to promote each other and other Naga artists. To give positive outcome of Hip Hop and spread positive message through the talent, God had given them. 

CJ Gurung who had been a professional DJ for 13 years mentioned that Nagaland is filled with talents and they just need to be explored and get experienced.  

The tickets for Kohima will be available at Fifa cafe, COZ, Hyundai showroom, the Juice bar, Mom and I cafe and for Dimapur at Funky Buddha. 

Bus services will be provided to every ticket holder. The bus picking will be at 4 p.m. at Raj Bhavan and dropping will start from the venue at 9 p.m. from Jotsoma-BOC-Razou point-to-High School.
