2 more die of covid in M’laya

Two more COVID-19 patients succumbed to the viral infection pushing the death toll to 38 in Meghalaya. The State has also reported 73 fresh cases on Monday taking the active cases to 2,169.

Director of Health Services, Dr. Aman War informed that Jyotikha Ghosh, who was suffering several other ailments, passed away at Nazareth Hospital, on Saturday.

While a 48 year-old man Jyotimoi Sharma from Tripura, who had been admitted in NEIGRIHMS and had tested positive for COVID-19 also expired on Saturday.

Of the new cases, the senior medical official said 59 (53 civilians and six from armed forces) were detected in East Khasi Hills. Twelve fresh cases were reported from West Garo Hills and one each from North Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills districts.
