2 schools selected for SPC

Chumukedima Hr. Sec. School (CHSS) and Police Central School (PCS) have been selected for Student Police Cadet (SPC) programme, an initiative of MHA ministry, to be monitored by the state police. 

According to PRO, deputy commissioner, Dimapur, Keveka Kevin Zehol, handed over cash assistance to the principals of the two selected schools to undertake the programme. He also advised them to make a close observation of the SPC trained students to see the improvement and difference amongst the selected students.

Additional DCP, (Crime), Relo, while explaining the concept of SPC, informed that under SPC, students of class 8 and 9 will be selected and trained together by the Police with assistance from the selected schools. This training is to boost their confidence and make them responsible law abiding citizens. 44 selected students from PCS and 40 from CHSS. 

Relo informed that the higher secondary schools will be trained for 2 years and given certificates after completion of training. He also informed that SPC programme was introduced in January 2019 with nodal officer in the rank of IG. 

MHA will closely monitor the programme and for which a team from Delhi will be arriving Nagaland on Tuesday to visit the selected schools. All together 15 schools from the state as been selected for the SPC programme.
