208 more FLWs receive Covid vaccine in Kma

208 more Front Line Workers (FLWs) received Covid vaccine “Covishield” on Friday at session sites set up at IGAR HQ and 93 BN BSF Chedema under Kohima district. 

On February 11, 297 FLWs received the Covid vaccine at session sites of IGAR HQ, 14 AR Tsiesema and 78 BN CRPF Sechu 

Under Kohima district, total number of FLWs and HCWs vaccinated reached 1,018 and 1284 respectively with a total of 43 session sites till date.

District Immunization Officer (DIO) Kohima, Dr. Rupert Peseyie informed that the vaccination will be carried out at 78 BN CRPF, Sechü and 93 BN BSF Chedema with a target of hundred each on February 13.

DIO has informed that sensitization programme on Covid Vaccine is underway for Block Task Force while it also planned to conduct the programme for 200 Anganwadi Workers (AWW) on February 13, all police units on February 17, Administrative staff and District Task Force in the coming week.

Sensitisation on COVID-19 vaccination

Medical department Zunheboto conducted awareness and sensitisation on COVID-19 vaccination for frontline workers of Zunheboto district for 8th NAP B Coy on February 12. 

During the event, DPO (RCH/UIP), Zunheboto, Dr.Nukshisangla Jamir appealed to all the participants to come forward and get vaccinated and not to believe in the misconceptions about the vaccine from the social media.

She also gave detailed explanation on the Covishield vaccine and how the doses were administered. She further appealed to all the participants to get vaccinated in order to stay safe and to protect oneself, family and neighbours, citing that frontline workers are in the high risk exposure. 

Dr.Nukshisangla also gave a detailed report on the number of healthcare workers in Nagaland, who have been vaccinated for the first dose so far, and the number of healthcare workers vaccinated in Zunheboto as well. 

Asstt. Commandant, 8th NAP, B Coy, Zunheboto , Tongpang delivered the welcome address during the awareness and sensitisation programme. 

The workshop was followed by interaction and discussion with the resource person and the participants. 

AR conducts COVID vaccination drive

Meanwhile, Assam Rifles, Kiphire battalion, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) carried out the second phase of COVID-19 vaccination on February 11. According to PRO, HQ IGAR (N), the vaccination programme was organised at Assam Rifles Hospital, Kiphire, with assistance from medical team under Kiphire District Immunization Officer and supervision of in charge, WHO Rapid Response Team Kiphire, Dr Christina.  A total of 30 volunteers from Kiphire Battalion Assam Rifles were administered covidshield vaccine.
