21 Savage apologises for controversial ‘Jewish money’ lyrics

 In the song, the star rapped: “We been getting that Jewish money/Everything is kosher.” Attention was drawn to them after LeBron James posted an Instagram story in which he quoted the words.

On Twitter yesterday (December 25), 21 Savage apologised for any offence he had caused. “The Jewish people I know are very wise with there money so that’s why I said we been gettin Jewish money I never thought anyone would take offense I’m sorry if I offended everybody never my intention I love all people,” he wrote.

‘ASMR’ features on the rapper’s new album ‘I Am > I Was’, which was released on Friday (December 21). The record features guest appearances from the likes of Childish Gambino, Migos’ Offset, Post Malone, Schoolboy Q and J. Cole.

The album opens with lyrics about Tekashi 6ix9ine, who was arrested on firearms and racketeering charges last month. Titled ‘A Lot’, J. Cole raps on the opening track: “Pray for Tekashi/They want him to rot/I picture him inside a cell on a cot/Reflecting on how he made it to the top/Wondering if it was worth it or not.”                  (NME)
