290 returnees arrive by special train from Bangalore

The special train from Bangalore arrived Dimapur Railway Station on July 9 around 8:20 a.m carrying 290 Naga returnees comprising of 137 from Dimapur and Peren districts, Mon 37, Tuensang 19, Longleng 17, Kiphiri 18, Phek 4, Zunheboto 24, Mokukchung 4, Wokha 16 and Kohima 14.

According to DIPR report, team Dimapur led by deputy commissioner Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi received the returnees. On arrival, Dimapur and Peren district returnees were taken to Agri Expo for further necessary protocols before sending them to the government quarantine centres.

Returnees from the rest of the district of Nagaland underwent thermal screening at the medical counter at Railway Station Dimapur, given food packets and then transported to their respective districts by NST buses accompanied by their liaison officer.

It may be mentioned that 49 returnees from Manipur (Senapati district) also came from the same train. Team DImapur provided food packets and water to the Manipur returnees also, who were then transported by buses arranged by Manipur government.
