2nd fire station inaugurated in Peren

Peren district 2nd fires station was inaugurated by Pohwang Konyak, advisor, Fire & Emergency Services, SIRD and Relief & Rehabilitation, in presence of dignitaries, officials from various departments and public leaders on February 5. 

According to DIPR report, Pohwang Konyak exhorted the public to utilize the fire service as well as taking care of public properties.  He also said that to modernize and strengthen the number of fire stations across the state, the state government is taking up the initiative in the best possible way.

He urged the general public to cooperate with the fire fighter personnel for timely intervention at times when fire breaks out to minimize the loss of lives and properties. He also reminded the public, police personnel, administrations, fire personnel and councils to work together and properly maintain the infrastructure provided.

Dr. Tinujongshi Chang, ADC Jalukie, Vikato Sangtam, SDPO Jalukie and Ako Zeliang, chairman, Lamhai Village Council expressed gratitude to the government for setting up Fire Station at Jalukie for the service of public.  The new fire station building has been constructed at a total cost of Rs. 170.44 lakhs. The building construction which commenced from June, 2016 was completed in the year 2019.

The inaugural function was chaired by IG (F&ES), Neilasa Sopfii while brief report on Fire Station, Jalukie was delivered by SE (PEP), Imnajungba Jamir. Short speeches were also delivered by ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang and SDPO Peren, Vikato Thonger. Kentippe Epuing, pastor Baptist Church Mhainamtsi gave the dedicatory prayer. Imnajungba Jamir, SE, PEP informed that the newly constructed Fire Station, Jalukie was funded under NEC scheme 2016-2017 and constructed by M/s. Paul Metha & Brothers.
