3-day Dakshata training in Kiphire

Three-day Dakshata training for high priority districts (HPDs) was held at CMO conference hall, Kiphire from July 12-14.
Dakshata is an initiative of the Government of India to improve the quality of maternal and newborn care during the intra-and immediate postpartum period. 
Dr. Bendangla Longkumer, Addl Director Health & Family Welfare Nagaland delivered the keynote address and underscored the importance of antenatal care. She also appealed to all the pregnant women to avail the services at the nearest health care centre. 
She said Dakshata programme will uplift the quality care to pregnant women. District programme officer (UIP & RCH), Dr. K. Pewezo Khalo delivered the welcome address and appealed to all the participants to reciprocate this programme into reality and provide the service at the grass root level. 
The programme was chaired by Ahieto Tase, DPM Kiphire and was facilitated by Dr. Longri Kichu, consultant UNICEF, and DAKSHATA ToTs - Dr. Pewezo Khalo, Dr.T. Y. Apila, (MS), Tsupenthong, Asangla and Lentsothsi. 
All together 16 participants including two MOs attended the training.
