Expressing resentment against the recent transfer of the senior most IAS of Nagaland cadre, RB Thong, from chief secretary to the post of the newly-created director general of Administratie Training Institute (ATI), the Rengma Hoho, the Pochury Hoho and Zeliangrong Baudi have questioned on what grounds and circumstances the official had been transferred.

In a joint press statement, ZBN president Rangsam N Hau, PHK president Atathu Thurr and Rengma Public Organization, Kohima president Khinyi Woch further questioned “if the humiliation being meted out to the concerned official is based on isms of subjugation and discrimination of minorities.”

The signatories said the three hohos held a joint meeting at Red Cross MC Hall, Kohima on January 31, 2019 and shared their concerns “on various issues of discriminations and suppression of the rights and privileges of the minority communities.”

Further, the three Hohos lamented the “suppression of rights and the privileges of the minority communities”, which they felt was “the greatest insult to democracy and humanity.”

Pointing out that they would neither tolerate nor remain a silent spectator to “such discrimination and subjugation”, the Hohos said they have decided that if the situation so demands, a joint forum to fight and safeguard the interest of the minority communities would be formed in the near future.
