3rd Aphuyemi Cup kicks off

The 3rd Aphuyemi Cup organised by Aphuyemi Football Club kicked off on January 27 at Ghathashi Town after it was declared open by chief invitee, SDO PWD (R&B) Dimapur division, Er. Nagashe Swu. The tournament will culminate on February 2. 

17 teams are participating in the yearly events of Aphuyemi Football Club. In his address, the chief invitee encouraged the participants to reconnect and spread friendship through this tournament. 
“There is widespread of disunity amongst the society but expecting brotherhood and oneness through Aphuyemi Cup”, he said. 
He also informed the players to be disciplined not only in sports field but in every walk of life. 
The chief guest concluded his speech by reminding the village councils and elders within Pughoboto area to support this tournament so that future star will be moulded from here. Shiyeto Wotsa in his presidential address thanked the whole Pughoboto area for taking the tournament this far and assured the gathering that the club will be a result oriented and bring laurel to Aphuyemi. 
On the opening match, defending champions, Pughoboto Town Club defeated D Boys Ghathashi 1-0. In the second match, Centre Club Mukalimi beat Mishilimi FC 2-0 while 
United FC Chisholimi beat Ashu Hebo Club 1-0 in the third match.
