4 die inside Kerala Express due to extreme heat

Four senior citizens travelling in Kerala Express reportedly died due to the severe heat wave in Uttar Pradesh on Monday evening.

According to railway sources, the four passengers, including a woman, were travelling from Agra Cantonment to Coimbatore inside sleeper coach S8 and S9. 

While three were found dead when the train reached Jhansi around 7 PM, the fourth passenger was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition where he later died.A group of 65 passengers, who were all senior citizens, were on a “UP darshan”, according to the Jhansi division railway PRO Manoj Singh.

The group had boarded the coaches S8 and S9 of the Kerala Express at Agra Cant at 4 pm.

According to co-passengers, the victims had been feeling uneasy due to the extreme heat.
