Four members of a family including a minor girl were grievously injured after the RCC wall of the house collapsed due to landslide at upper Bayavü colony Kohima on August 2 night.
The injured, identified as 65-year old Lohrü  (father), Asorou (mother, 60 years), Asane (daughter, 25 yrs) and Akhone (grand-daughter 9 yrs) were rushed to the Naga hospital. The mother was reportedly in critical condition transferred to the ICU.
It was also reported that a vehicle (sumo grande) which was parked along the road side, rolled down the 30 feet below the road before it stopped at the collapsed house. A recently constructed platform for a transformer, by the road side, was also pulled down some 20 feet from the main road. All these occurred on August 2 due to incessant rain.
Speaking to this Correspondent, Vizo James, who witnessed the horrific incident, narrated how he along with the neighbours and colony residents saved his parents, sister and niece by pulling them out from the debris.
Vizo said the house which had five rooms was completely damaged and covered by the landslide.
Meanwhile, upon receiving information, district disaster management authority (DDMA) personnel visited the spot and also met the injured at the Naga hospital.
DDMA official informed that immediate relief was provided to the affected family.
