4 more pairs of ‘Festival Special’ trains for NE

The Northeast Frontier Railways has announced four more pairs of “Festival Special” train services which are going to start shortly in NFR. These are:

1. 03141 / 03142 Sealdah – New Alipurduar – Sealdah daily special express
2. 02517 / 02518 Kolkata – Guwahati- Kolkata Bi-weekly special express
3. 02513 / 02514 Guwahati – Secunderabad - Guwahati weekly special express
4. 05611 / 05612 Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly special express
It may be mentioned here that, to clear the festive rush of passenger, Ministry of Railways has approved running of 196 pairs (392 trains) of ‘Festival Special’ services over Indian Railways.  These special trains will be operated starting from October 20 to November 30, 2020. The fare for these Festival Special services will be as applicable for special trains.
As per press release by NFR Chief Public Relations Officer, SubhananChanda, train number 03141 Sealdah – New Alipurduar special will leave daily from Sealdah at 1:40 pm w.e.f. October 20 to reach New Alipurduar at 6:25 am next morning. During return journey, 03142 New Alipurduar – Sealdah will leave from New Alipurduar daily at 11: 45 am  w.e.f. October 21 to arrive Sealdah at 4:45 pm the next day. The train will run via Naihati Jn, Bandel, Nabadwip Dham,Katwa, Azimganj Jn, Jangipur road, Malda Town, Barsoi Jn, New Jalpaiguri, Dhiupguri, Falakata and New Coochbehar.
05612 Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly special will leave from Silchar at 8:05 pm on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday w.e.f. October 21 to reach at 7:45 am the next day. During return journey, train no 05611 Guwahati – Silchar Tri-weekly special will leave from Guwahati at 5:30 pm every Monday, Thursday and Saturday w.e.f. October 22 to arrive Silchar at 5:55 am. The train will run via Badarpur, New Harangajao, New Haflong, Mahur, Lumding, Hojai and Chaparmukh.
02518 Guwahati- Kolkata Bi-weekly special will leave from Guwahati at 9 pm on every Wednesday and Saturday w.e.f. October 21 to reach Kolkata at 3 pm the next day. During return journey, train no 02517 Kolkata – Guwahati Bi-weekly special will leave from Kolkata at 9:40 pm every Thursday and Sunday w.e.f. October 22 to reach Guwahati at 3:55 pm the next day. The train will run via Goalpara Town, New bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Azimganj, Nabadwip Dham and Bandel.
02514 Guwahati – Secunderabad weekly special express will leave from Guwahati every Thursday at 6:20 am w.e.f. October 22 to reach Securderabad at 4 am on Saturday. During return journey, 02513 Secunderabad - Guwahati weekly special express will leave from Securderabad every Sunday at 7:20 am w.e.f. Octobe 25 to arrive Guwahati at 6 am on Tuesday. During its journey, the train will run via Rangiya, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Barsoi, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Howrah, Kharagpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Vishakapatnam, Rajamundry, and Vijayawada.
Running of these festival specials is expected to reduce the rush of passengers during the current festive season.
