42nd AKTM sports cum general conference underway at Kubolong

The 42nd Asetkong Kaketshir Telongjem Mungdang (AKTM) sports cum general conference began at Kubolong Sub-Division under Mokokchung District on Wednesday.

More than 400 delegates from seven units are currently camping at AKTM Headquarters Kubolong to attend the three-day sports meet cum general conference.

CDPO Kubolong, Imliyanger, who officially kicked off the sports meets at Kubolong Football Ground as chief patron, said that Asetkong was an important range in the Ao land and has produced many eminent leaders and luminaries. He therefore urged the students to progress and continue to keep the good image of the range as responsible students.

“Continuity of the good image of the Asetkong following the footsteps of the forefathers should be the responsibility of each student,” he said.

Imliyanger also said that to keep a good image to the people of Nagaland and the Ao in particular, they should humble themselves while pursuing their goal.

Calling the students that they were the future, he also urged the students to work hard from now itself to achieve their vision they have conceptualized today.

To the players, he urged them to give their best in every sports they participate in upholding the sportsmen spirit.

AKM president, Imkongwati, in his short speech, said Asetkong known as the heart of the Ao land has been acknowledged for producing leaders in various prospects. He challenged the current generation of students how far they were prepared to go to achieve what their predecessor had achieved and have been cherished by the people.

The two-day sports event would witness table tennis boys/ girls singles and mixed doubles; football, volleyball and basketball boys and girls which would be played in knock-out format.

On December 9 night, cultural showcase and prize distribution ceremony function would be held.
