59 women SHG members qualify IIBF exam

Altogether 59 women SHG Business Correspondent (BC) Sakhi candidates, who appeared the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) Certification exam on March 9 and March 16, 2021 have passed with cent per cent result.

In a press release, NSRLM state program manager- financial inclusion, Rajuselie Lhousa informed that the online examination was conducted by IIBF Exam Centre, CSC, Dimapur.

Prior to the certification examination, Lhousa saifd a six-day course training on Inclusive Banking was provided to the BC Sakhi candidates by Rural Self Employment Training Centre (RSETI) Jalukie, Peren district, in two batches. The first batch started on March 3 while the second batch on March 10.

The first batch was inaugurated by Z. Tholi Paul, AGM SBI & Lead District Manager for Peren and Dimapur district, while the second batch was inaugurated by Lanusosang Jamir, State Head, Common Service Centre (CSC), I&T Department, Nagaland.

SBI-RSETI Peren director Novin Basumatary thanked the National Academy RUDSET (NAR) Bangalore, for approving the conduct of training in appropriate time. The training was funded by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) through NAR Bangalore.

Lhousa has expressed gratitude to RSETI Peren and IIBF Exam Centre Dimapur for arranging the training slot and smooth conduct of examination respectively. The passed Business Correspondent (BC) Sakhi candidates would be initially deployed as Digipay Sakhi in villages with the support of CSC, prior to getting linked as Bank’s BC. The State has now 92 IIBF certified women BC Sakhis from 70 RD blocks.

A BC is an alternate banking channel for strengthening the reach of banking services to rural pockets and bringing more households in the ambit of financial inclusion.
