6-day Peren distt total lockdown

Peren district administration has announced total lockdown of the whole district from June 30, 2020 to July 5, 2020 in order to ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic was successfully contained and did not pose unnecessary risk to public health and safety of the citizens of Peren.

According to DIPR report, the deputy commissioner (DC) Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, has issued an order on June 27, 2020 strictly prohibiting movement of public, banning movement of private vehicles, closing down of all business/shops and trade activities besides prohibiting all social/political/religious gathering and functions. DC also ordered that not more than 20 persons would be permitted in case of funerals.

The order stated only the exempted categories related to COVID-19 services such as medical, police, administration, all frontline workers involved in COVID-19 duty and those involved in farming activities and people on medical emergencies would be allowed movement with necessary permit. 

While pharmacies have been allowed to open, DC stated that all safety measures such as compulsory use of face mask, frequent hand washing/use of hand sanitizer and maintenance of social distancing would be strictly adhered to while carrying out COVID-19 duties.

Spitting in public places has been strictly banned and violation of which would be punishable with fine.
