69 students to watch landing of Chandrayaan-2

Sixty nine students including two from Nagaland have been selected to represent their respective states and union territories to witness the Chandrayaan-2 moon landing with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi at ISRO control room, ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) facility in Bengaluru on September 7 at 1: 55 p.m.

The students were selected after winning “Space Quiz 2019” organised by MyGov in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). 

Out of 74 selected candidates, five students could not confirm their participation on the last date and time announced earlier. 

A total of 69 students have confirmed their participation. From Nagaland, Aleyzeza Leyri (NGF45), Class 10 of Fernwood School, Kohima and Shlok Mundhra (NGM46), Class 10 of Hollotoli School, Dimapur will represent the state.

Chandrayaan-2, a three-module spacecraft comprising an orbiter, lander and rover, which was launched on July 22, will land on the surface of the moon on September 7.
