 Dear Naga people,

I pray and praise God Almighty as we remember and observe the Naga National Martyrs’ Day of 18th Oct. 2020. I pay my homage to all the Naga martyrs and pray for their families who had to endure the loss of their loved ones for the cause of Naga National Rights for freedom.

The Naga martyrs had sacrificed their lives for the great cause of freedom, therefore the present generation at this stage must realise  the depths and significance of their sacrificial deeds. We must not overlook or disregard the acts of our martyrs but we must uphold and remember their selfless and sacrificial deeds for the nation with high regards.

Today, as we remember and observe the Martyrs’ Day, may we all bow down before our living God and rededicate ourselves once again to Him, let us get rid of our stubbornness, hatred and unforgiving attitude towards one another in National affairs- as this has become the main stumbling block in achieving our desired goal of the people's freedom.

Therefore, with earnest prayer and heart of repentance we the Naga People must pray to our Living God for reconciliation with God and one another to achieve our desired goal, for our living  God has a specific purpose for the Naga people.

The NNC will once again reiterate that we cannot relinquish or abandon our down trodden Naga people in the Burma side (Eastern Nagas), the whole Naga people has sacrificed and suffered together for the last many decades for our freedom of Sovereignty. If the Naga people and more specifically the National workers are able to reconcile and unite in this endeavour of National freedom then the odds are in our favour and we can definitely achieve our goal and objective, the very purpose for which the Nagas as a whole have been suffering and enduring for the last more than seven decades to achieve freedom and peace in our Homeland.

The NNC as a Non-Violence political Institution of the Naga people have always stood and uphold the principles of noble and peaceful stand, and will continue to do so. Therefore, the NNC once again reiterate our peaceful stand to all concerned and we appeal to all the Groups to cease in-fightings based on indifferences of political thoughts and approaches, there is no need for more bloodshed, violence and killings as we have had enough of these things already in the Homeland. Let us all resort to peaceful means and solve the indifferences which exists through reasonable dialogues and better political strategies.

Therefore, in conclusion the NNC on behalf of the Naga people and all concerned once again   put forward the very proposal to bring all the National Political groups to the table of reconciliation to reason out all the differences and bring about the best possible and long lasting solution for peace and prosperity in the Homeland, and we request the two Civil Societies viz. The Global Naga Forum and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation to take the initiative and execute this.

May our living God bless and help the Naga people for a peaceful achievement of our freedom for His glory. Amen.

Yilow Humtsoe, Acting President, NNC (PB)
