73,903 educated unemployed in the state

There are 73,903 educated unemployed in the state according to the live register of employment exchanges as on April 30, 2019.  The breakup list of 6210 post graduates of which 2641 are males and 3479 are females; 21,976 graduates (12,606 male & 9,916 female);  12,188 pre-university  (7622 male & 4566 female); 12,414 matriculates ( 9,664 male & 2,750 female) ; 18,918 under matric (16,607 male & 2,311 female) ; degrees (tech) 1,636 (1,118 male & 518 female); diploma 651 ( 450 male & 201 female). This was disclosed by Asst. director, department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship,  Zubemo Lotha at the one- day media workshop ‘Vartalap’ organized by Press Information Bureau (PIB) ministry of Information and Broadcasting Kohima held at Eastgate Hotel Kohima on Thursday.
Zubemo further informed that under the department of  Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, altogether 2486 persons were trained during the last five years (2014-2017) in various disciplines such as 465 in carpentry, 365 in knitting; 345 in cutting & sewing, 340 under COPA  draughtsman; 175 as electricians;  173 as motor mechanic;  117 as plumbers ;  112 in secretarial practice;  83 in hair & skin care;  65 in stenography, surveyor 64, electronic mechanic 34 , diesel mechanic 19, 12 in dress making, 11 in IT & ESM, fitter 9, machinist 8, 8 in masonry, 7 in wielding  and 5 in sewing technology. 
Besides these the department is also giving other training like beauty and wellness, tourism and hospitality, retail and others.  
Under PMKVY centrally sponsored, Nagaland which has 15 training partners in the state with 21 training centers and training across 14 sectors in 26 job roles, have trained 3035 and out of which 1346 got placement and 2431 undergoing training.  On query the assistant director said many trained persons got placement in private and government sectors.
