Sanjay Dutt should not be shedding such tears to go to jail. After he comes out his political career is made:  “He meets all the criteria to be the people’s representative!” said a regional party worker.
“How so?” I asked a little hesitantly.
“Look at the number of years in jail!”
“Yes I’m looking!” I said dismally.
“More than Nehru, Gandhi and most freedom fighters!”
“But they were fighting for their country’s freedom!” I whispered.
“We are not bothered what you are jailed for!” said the party worker, “All we ask the candidate is have you spent time in jail and if he says yes, we allow him to walk in and file his papers!”
“What else?” I asked.
“The country needs tough leaders right?”
“How do you know he’s tough?”
“Didn’t he take drugs?”
“Yes!” I said.
“Who are the ones who take drugs? You don’t know? Well its people who’ve had tough childhoods! They are driven to drugs! Once he shows us needle marks on his arms his seat is assured!”
“Anything else?” I whispered.
“His women!”
“What about his women?” I asked.
“This must be the third or fourth one in his life!”
“Isn’t that bad?” I asked, “after all what about Indian morality!”
“Morality be damned, votes matter and voters will adore him for the many women he keeps getting married to!”
I walked towards another party worker who was also discussing news about Sanjay:
“He has done so much for the country!” sighed the worker and the other party worker nodded in agreement.
“What has he done?” I asked.
“You want to see what he has done?”
“Yes!” I said. “Arrey bhai, bring a CD!” said the party worker gesturing to a shop owner in the distance!”
“What CD?” I asked. “Munna Bhai! See our Sanjay in action, helping people, giving medical assistance, uplifting the poor! 
This man is a sure winner..!”
