‘Lingrijan Night Carnival’ culminates

5-day Lingrijan Night Carnival organized by the Lingrijan Village Council (LVC) culminated on December 23 with O.C. East Police station, Dimapur, Bendangwati Ao, as the guest of honour.
Addressing the crowd at the closing programme, Bendangwati lauded Lingrijan council for taking the initiative in organizing such carnival so that people could come out and have a good time during the festive season. He also congratulated Lingrijan council on completing the repairing works of Lingrijan road which remained neglected for years. Bendangwati also donated a sum of money towards the construction of Lingrijan road. Further, the guest of honour lit the bon fire as a sign of peace and harmony.
N. Meren Imchen, chairman Lingrijan Village Council (LVC) in his short speech said it was a proud moment for the council and the residence of Lingrijan village since the colony night carnival was organized on the newly constructed road. He said, the residents of Lengrijan had longed for good roads within its locality for a long time and its wishes had come true because of the joint effort made by the village council and the residence both monetarily as well as physically. He further urged all the colony residents to always live in co-operation and harmony.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by convener NC committee, Alitemsu Jamir, invocation by GB LVC, I. Onen, while special number was presented by Imnatula Kichu and benediction by Head GB LVC N. Wati Lkr. It may be mentioned that there were about 75 stalls set up for the carnival, wherein food stalls, fun games and entertainment were the main attraction.
