The artistic director for tomorrow night’s Olympic Closing Ceremony has unveiled his vision, promising it will be the ‘best after show party that’s ever been’.

Kim Gavin, the man behind the event has been talking at a press conference this morning to tease some details about the highly anticipated ceremony.

Following the huge success of Danny Boyle’s opening ceremony two weeks ago the pressure is on for Gavin and his team to put on a show that closes London 2012 with a bang.

Gavin, who has worked on tours for the likes of Take That in his career, has said it’s been a “blessing to have this job of putting on an aftershow party after the event.”

Despite being only a day away Gavin has admitted that they are “still rehearsing “ and intriguingly “still waiting for a final lineup.”

Gavin’s comments could refer to his good friend Gary Barlow who is yet to confirm his scheduled performance with Take That following the stillbirth of his daughter Poppy a week ago.

The artistic director went onto to describe his “symphony of British music” vision, saying the show will celebrate “the global appeal of British music in the world today”.

The stars of London 2012- the athletes, look set to have the best seats in the house as Gavin confirms they will form the “mosh pit or the golden circle for the performers.”

With the likes of the Spice Girls, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran and George Michael set to perform we can’t wait!
Meanwhile, Gary Barlow is reportedly determined to perform at the closing ceremony, despite the loss this week of his daughter, Poppy.

That are scheduled to perform at the end of the Olympic Games, and Gary Barlow is still set to perform with bandmtes Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald.

“The band have been there for him and totally understand if he doesn’t do the gig,” says a source to The Sun newspaper.

“Take That are on the running order and the organisers are prepared for all eventualities, but they all know Gary will be determined to perform.”
