Out of the 24 contestants, twelve males and six females made have made it to the Top 18 in the Naga Orpheus 2012 screening round held at Highway 39 (Go-karting), Dimapur on Friday.

Judges of the show Ate Kevichusa, Nise Meruno and Tali Angh had a tough and harrowing time at the daylong screening round to select the top 18 contenders for the Naga Orpheus 2012, after observing performances from the 24 contestants.

Today at the screening round, two contestants, Thunglamo and Wapang received huge accolades from the judges.
Earlier, Thunglamo, who won compliments from one of the judges earlier in the audition round did fail them  this time as well with his song ‘Mad World’.

Organized by Dorians Society Dimapur under the aegis of Mokokchung District Art and Culture Council, the selected contestants would be performing on October 3, and after which, the fate of the top 18 contestants would be decided by the public and judges on 50/50 voting basis.

It is worth mentioning that the Top 18 contestants will be mentored under the guidance of Moanungsang, the first Naga Orpheus.

Top 18 contestants are: Thunglamo, Wapang Longkumer, Temsuyapang, Manchai Phom, Roselyn, Bendangmenla, Aghali, Mhayani, Sashikokba, Houvino, Toshilenda, Yenwang, Temwang, Kanato, Temsuakum, Pauong, Ngukavi and Neilhou.
