Regional Ayurveda Research Centre (RARC) organises programme for Ayush stakeholders

Regional Ayurveda Research Centre (RARC) Dimapur organised a programme for Ayush stakeholders at Hotel Saramati, here on Wednesday.
The programme was on Continuing Medical Education (CME) on ministry of Ayush initiatives during COVID-19 and felicitation of medicine distribution campaigns for Ayush stakeholders. During the programme, chief medical officer (CMO) Dimapur, Dr. Moatemjen Jamir in his speech as chief guest said RARC has rendered their services not only during COVID crisis but also during dengue outbreak and others.
He briefed on how Ayush took up the effort of holistic approach and on the availability of medicinal plants in Nagaland, CMO encouraged stakeholders Ayush to give a thought at studying the medical plants and their benefits.
Special guest of the programme, National Ayush mission, Nagaland state programme officer, Dr. Seyiekhrietuo John said during COVID crisis, Ayush integrated hospital was used as the first COVID hospital and that it treated the first COVID case. Dr. Seyiekhrietuo informed that Ayush doctors were assigned and deployed at various quarantine centres and hospitals.
He highlighted various activities that they carried out till date and disclosed that there were 17 Ayurveda doctors in the state.
Dr. Seyiekhrietuo also informed that National Ayush mission since its inception 2014 had 64 doctors appointed under National Ayush mission, 14 working under IAH at Noklak, Dimapur and Razha Chedema under Kohima district and five working under Ayush dispensaries and one working as consultant. Meanwhile, 44 were Ayush MOs for sub-centres which were upgraded to health and wellness centres with 55 units Ayurveda services in the state. He reiterated that as far as union minister for Ayush & Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal visit was concerned, four hospitals would be coming up along with Ayurveda medical college, at Longleng. The project would be processed and submitted, he further infomred.
Delivering welcome address, RARC Dimapur research officer in-charge, Dr. Vilas Gangurde gave a brief information on CCRAS and RARC activities. Later, opening remark was delivered by RARC, Dimapur research assistant (Bot), Nikhil Krishna.
The programme was followed by a technical session carried out by Ayush, IAH Dimapur MO, Dr. Sentila Aier, RARC Dimapur RO (Ay) Dr. Deepak Rahangdale and RARC Dimapur, assistant RO (Bot), Vishnu Walsan K.
