Karbi Anglong District Congress received major boost ahead of the general election, after joining of three surrendered united people’s democratic solidarity (UPDS) leaders in congress, including Lang bard Engleng former defence secretary of the outfit and a signatory of the historical UPDS accord.

Lang bard Engleng conceived defeat in the autonomous council election which was held just after signing of the UPDS accord against Congress nominee Mongal Sing Engti in Hamren MAC constituency.

150 members of UPDS and ASDC including a central committee member of ASDC joined congress in a rally organized at Diphu stadium to mark the congress victory in the recently held civic poll in the district.
