PLA attacks Assam rifles post in Manipur

Cadres of People Liberation Army (PLA) launched a heavy attack on a post of Assam Rifles in Manipur’s interior Chandel district Friday night, an official source said, Saturday.

The source said that the gunfight between troopers of 35 Assam Rifles post at Sajik Tampak and suspected rebels of People Liberation Army (PLA) took place around 8 pm and no casualty was suffered to the security force side.

However, Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), the political wing of the PLA, claimed that heavy casualties have been inflicted to the Indian security force in the attack while owning the up the attack.

The attack was a part of PLA drive against poppy cultivation in the interior hills areas of the state, the statement claiming the attack signed by chief of publicity of the outfit Taohangsu Huiremcha said.
