Arunachal Gov voices concern on corruption, leakage of funds

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brigadier (Retired) B.D. Mishra on Thursday voiced concerns against corruption and leakage of public funds, even as he advised government officials to implement the ongoing developmental projects and programmes in a mission mode.
Mishra, who was sworn in as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, was chairing his first review meeting on developmental activities of the State with the senior government officers
Chief Secretary Shakuntala D Gamlin, State Police Chief Sandeep Goel along with Commissioners and Secretaries of various departments attended the meeting.
Calling upon the officers to put in their heart and mind in implementing the ongoing developmental projects and programmes, Mishra also emphasized on quality education, training and skill development, better healthcare facilities, cleanliness and end open defecation, timely and proper implementation of projects and pollution free environment and sustainable development.
Voicing his concerns against corruption and leakage of public funds, the Governor  stressed on third party auditing, e-payment and payment through bank accounts He also stressed that there must be no complacent in taking precautions to mitigate and adept to disasters.
Underscoring sense of security amongst the people, Mishra advised the Secretary Home and Director General of Police to ensure that no citizen of Arunachal Pradesh joins anti-national groups and work against the security and integrity of the Nation.
He also informed the officers that he will take up the issues of the State with the Union Government. The Governor also assured to voice the challenges of the people with the appropriate authorities.
Issues including border area development, internet connectivity, roads, healthcare, waste management, environment and forests, Tirap, Changlang and Longding, State own resources and national flagship programmes were discussed in threadbare manner.   
Earlier, the Chief Secretary briefed the Governor on the overall developmental scenario of the State. The Commissioners and Secretaries of various departments also apprised him of their concerned departmental affairs.
