AGBCN sports fest

For the first time in History of Association of Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland (AGBCN), the Youth Department is hosting a three day sports festival under the theme “Go the Distance” at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.  Chief guest of the opening ceremony Yimtisenap Ao, vice-president Gideon International North East States, India and Rev. B. Vinod Rai, executive secretary, AGBCN was the Guest of Honour. The chief guest said that an athlete has to live two life, one inside the ground and the other outside the ground but as a Christian athlete, he challenged the participants to live one life under the humble teachings of Christ. Oath taking was performed by Robert Aley, Youth Secretary AGBCN, and a special song by Poonam Sunar at the function. Rev. B. Vinod Rai, the Guest of Honour also delivered a short speech.  The compere of the event was Joshua Gurung pastor MTGBC. Twenty teams from various Baptist churches with more than two hundred athletes from all over Nagaland are participating in this three day sports fest which will culminate on June 30 where the chief guest will be M. B Aley, Asst. Director, school education and the Guest of Honor will be Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, executive secretary ABAM.
