Hornbill International Motor Rally starts

Hornbill International Motor Rally, 2011 got off to a grand start at the IG Stadium, Kohima Friday.
A total of 81 participants, of which 59 are four wheelers and 22 two wheelers, took part in the TSD (Time Speed Distance) competition.

The rally was flagged off by Hari Singh former national and Asia zone rally champion and manager JK Tyre.
In his address, Singh congratulated the state government and NAMSA for organizing the motor rally.
He recalled that five years ago there were only 13 participants and this year over 100 participants taking part in the motor rally competition.

He also extended his best wishes to the organizer and all the participants.
Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) president Abu Metha said this year rally would be the highest cash prize money with a total of more than Rs.5 lakh cash prizes for different categories while another Rs.1.5 lakh cash prizes for the WW-II Vintage car rally.

The first day competition was the TSD (Time Speed Distance) event with four foreign countries Japan, Lao, U.K, and Thailand along with the participants from the countries and state took part in the competition.  

Meanwhile, the TSD and Autocross event grand finale and prize distribution ceremony will take place on December 3 at 5.00pm at IG Stadium with Naiba Konyak, parliamentary secretary, Youth Resources and Sports as chief guest and Hari Singh as guest of honour.
