Addressing the gathering, chief minister Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio who is also the president of Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and president Nagaland Archery Association (NAA) congratulated Swuro for her achievement stating that winning a medal did not matter, but what was remarkable was that Chekrovolu had made a “good beginning for the Nagas”.
Rio recalled how Nagaland got affiliated to Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in 2004 after 40 years of statehood and expressed happiness that something was made visible within 8 years of NOA’s affiliation to Indian Olympic Association (IOA) .

“Our focus should be aggressive, progressive and should have commitment”, Rio said adding that it will be a challenge for the younger generation.
Rio also called for hard labor so that Nagas will get recognition adding sports was the only platform where dreams turn the dream to reality.
