Lamkang Brothers and 16th Dogra Regiment enter final

Lamkang Brothers and 16th Dogra Regiment entered the finals at the ongoing 6th Nagaland open volleyball championship played under the theme “Unity through sports” at Kohima local ground on Thursday.

In the first semi-final match, Lamkang Brothers defeated Longsa 25-22, 25-18 and 25-22.In the second semi-final match, 16th Dogra Regiment defeated 11th Assam Rifles 25-15, 22-25, 25-22, 19-25 and 15-18.

Longsa Sporting Club and 11th Assam Rifles would play on November 9, 12 p.m. for the third place followed by the final match between Lamkang Brothers vs 16th Dogra Regiment.

Temsuwati Addl.  Dev. Com. (planning & co-ordination) would be the guest of honour at the closing ceremony on November 9, 2 p.m. at Kohima local ground.

The champion would be awarded a cash prize of `70,000 along with a running trophy donated by the family members of Lt. Guolhoulie Rio of Tuophema Village with citations.

First runners-up would receive `40,000, `25,000 for the second runners-up, `15,000 for the third runners-up and individual prizes such as Best spiker, setter and libero will receive `5,000 each.
