Bible Society of India, Bangalore has deputed Rev. Dr. Z.K. Rochill senior Auxiliary secretary, Dimapur Auxiliary to have a press conference with M.C. Mary Kom Olympic medalist at Imphal on November 20 at Kom’s residence at National game village, Imphal.
Rochill: Congratulation for making us proud as Christian also fellow country people. I am happy to know that you are from Kangathei village. I have been to your village and distributed Bible Tracts in 1994.
M.C. Mary Kom: Yes, I am from Kangathei village, good to know that you have been to my village.
Rochill: can you tell me about your family background like your parents, are they still alive, your children?
M.C. Mary Kom: I am from poor family, but my parents are God fearing and that are still alive. We struggle a lot and God has been our strength.
Rochill: Your growing up and formation period especially, the influence of experience with God’s presence through Church, Holy Bible?
M.C. Mary Kom: When I practice for National and International games, I pray, fast and read the Bible. I remember the story of David and Goliath. I trust God always.
Rochill: What was the driving force behind you to resolve to excel in your chosen profession?
M.C. Mary Kom: I trust God always and felt one day I will be somebody.
Rochill: Do you think Bible helps your achievement?
M.C. Mary Kom: Yes, I do believe that Bible gives me strength.
Rochill: Do you get support from your Church?
M.C. Mary Kom: When I have to go for the games my Church members pray for me always.
Rochill: What message do you want to convey to the youth of the country today?
M.C. Mary Kom: I want to convey to the youth of our country to love God always, so that God will list them up one day.
Rochill: This time you got Bronze medal and I am sure to get Silver or Gold medal during 2016 Olympic at Rio?
M.C. Mary Kom: I will keep on trying.

M.C. Mary Kom: Yes I will.
