Womenfolk urged to initiate change

Womenfolk was asked to be initiators of change in a society which was experiencing “revolution of rising expectations” so as to build a better future for the younger generation.
Speaking as the chief guest at the golden jubilee celebration of Ao Temolungtsur Telungjem Mokokchung Town (ATTMT) of Mopungchuket on March 14 MLA Dr. Imtiwabang Aier urged women to be the “changing force” and bring about positive changes starting from their own kitchen.
Stating that to educate a family there was a need to first educate a woman Dr. Imtiwabang vouched for promotion of gender equality and women empowerment.  Pointing out that Naga society today was facing a “tense period” of “excessive pessimism and negativism”, Dr. Imtiwabang said the society was experiencing a “revolution of rising expectations” for want of honest and committed leaders in every field.
He observed that corruption from the “highest to the grassroot level” has hampered the socio-political economy of the Nagas and lamented the “unabated taxation” by various elements including the government agencies. 
While speaking on the theme “wholistic development”, Postmaster General, North Eastern Circle I Pangernungsang for an or organisation, institution, union, association, etc. to grow, every individual member must follow certain citerias.
He was of the view that each individual must maintain a healthy life style and avoid life style diseases, have a well defined economy by ethically observing the dignity of labour with the attitude “work to earn”, maintain a balanced socio-cultural traditions of honesty, respect, generosity and hospitality, strive for around educational development with values and beliefs of specialisation and right standing and understanding of spiritualisation.
Earlier, the golden jubilee souvenir was released by the chief guest and short speeches were also delivered by jt. dev. commissioner, Aolemla Jamir, Imtisangla, a founding member, Temsuwati, A/P MTBA and Dr. A Talikaba Lemtur. The celebration was hosted by Narola Neizo, assistant professor FAC.
