With Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) reaffirming its resolve for ‘Frontier Nagaland’ comprising of Mon, Tuensang, Longleng and Kiphire districts, it was learnt that the state government was in the process of trying to resolve the issue. According to reliable sources, a group of ministers reportedly held an informal meeting with the chief minister Wednesday on how to resolve the issue. There was speculation that one of the options was to revert back to the period during the NNO rule when Tuensang district (which included Mon, Kiphire and Longleng) had some form of financial autonomy. In the light of the recent developments, it was learnt that the points addressed at Wednesday’s meeting would be taken forward to the people of the district and probably discussed with all sections of Naga society including the state assembly.
