Phek district Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) convened a consultative meeting with 19th ACCC Phek A/C, NPF 19th A/C and Phek area public organization (PAPO) at GB’s association hall, Phek town on July 13.
According to NCSU Phek joint secretary Sapralu Nyekha, the main agenda of the meeting was to give priority to on-going construction work at DC complex office. The meeting resolved to approach the contractors to hasten up construction work within the time frame given in the work order, and to adhere strictly to the work specification given in the contract manual.
This resolution was signed by Huvosa Venuh president ACCC 19th A/C Zashevoyi Lohe, president PAPO, Api Vadeo, president 19th A/C NPF, and Setso Puro, president NCSU.
The house also resolved to stand by the decision of NCSU Phek where commissioner, Nagaland has been apprised to set up fact finding committee for enquiring serious anomalies detected in the construction work, and to award befitting action against the contractors and erring officials. The house also resented the delay tactics in the construction work for almost three or four months.
NCSU Phek further stressed on the importance of quality workmanship and further cautioned that it would conduct a surprise touring on spot verification of all contract work being carried out in the district to ensure that public welfare was given priority.
Reiterating that its was an NGO and a neutral body working solely for the benefits of the general public, NCSU said any party or individual opposing its stand without knowing the ground realities would not be tolerated.
