In a follow up of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) membership drive for involving youths in politics, IYC members namely Meer Akhtar Hussain, Shuja Gandhi, Abu Sharma and Rajiv Kumar arrived Dimapur to begin scrutiny of voter’s list.

Briefing media on their visit Wednesday here at Congress Bhavan, Shuja Gandhi said that after one month of membership drive, the members have arrived Nagaland to scrutinize the voter’s list.

Gandhi said that any complaints or correction in the membership forms could be made within February 22-26, for which, members should produce original membership receipt and documentary proofs. Membership forms that are incomplete would be rejected added Gandhi.

He also informed that Lok Sabha Returning Officer (LRO) would be touring the Lok Sabha and spend a day each in every assembly in which he suggested that members could approach LRO to check their names on the list.

In order to ensure fairness of the election process, Gandhi said Foundation for Advanced Management of Elections (FAME), an NGO formed by former chief election commissioner of India, Lyngdoh, would independently audit the membership and election process so as to ensure that it is impartial and open to all for participation.

Gandhi then informed that members could access the voter list at or refer a copy at the District Congress Committee Office.
