In one of the rarest case, a 48 year old (non local) man was arrested by special branch personnel, Dimapur, Monday evening for sodomy and other charges.

Briefing media persons at his office chamber Israel G. Xuivi, DSP, special branch, Dimapur, said the accused identified as Fokharuddin Mazumdar who runs a hardware shop and a grocery store at 2½ Mile, Dimapur, opposite TK service, used to persuade the five victims, who are his salesmen and labourer separately on different occasions inviting them to sleep at his residence saying he was scared to sleep alone.

When the victims arrive at the accused residence, he would provide food laced with drugs and then commit the vile act on them for many days.

The vile act came to light only when the accused was arrested by the special branch personnel on charges of circulating fake currency.

The DSP also said the accused use to threaten the victims that they would be killed as it was alleged that he has many connections with undergrounds.

The five victims came forward to testify before the police only after they were assured of their safety.  
On interrogation, the accused disclosed that the fake currency was handed over to him by a bakery owner at Purana Bazaar as part of house rent since he used to collect the rent on behalf of the house owner.

He was also charged of snatching a Pulsar (NL07J-O524) from a person and threatened to even kill him. The bike was also recovered this evening.

Meanwhile, DSP said further interrogation would be conducted as chances of circulation of fake currency by the accused in huge quantity could be unearthed.
