NSCN (K) has warned of “serious consequences” including breakdown of cease-fire against what it termed as “repeated gross violation of cease-fire ground rules” by Assam Rifles (AR) in “connivance” with GPRN/NSCN.
Citing instances of such violations by AR, Cease-fire Supervisory Board (CFSB) member Hokato Vusshe informed this correspondent that AR troops raided the house of a Naga Army personnel where his family along with two others were residing in the wee hours of June 8 in Agri-Forest colony at Kohima.
Vusshe alleged that AR ransacked the house and searched all the belongings but found nothing that were incriminating.
CFSB member informed that two of its cadres were taken to AR camp where they were detained and interrogated and charged with possession of two country-made pistols and documents relating to finance.
However Vusshe said that his boys were not in possession of the weapons but were brought by AR to frame NSCN (K) cadres for possessing guns.
He also said that the documents found in the house as alleged by AR were those belonging to GPRN/NSCN.
The documents include an assignment order from the office of the “secretary” ministry of chaplee affairs, GPRN, Khekiho Chophi, phone index list containing names and telephone numbers of chaplee staff including chaplee “kilonser” Jack Zhimomi, “deputy kilonsers” Bohoto, Nitovi, Angpa, John, Yensaba, Benjamin and secretaries and “information slips” (challans) issued by GPRN/NSCN.
Vusshe said these documents along with the guns were submitted to the police at the time when his boys were released.
NSCN (K) questioned the motive of AR for falsely implicating his boys for possession of these documents which did not belong to his group and for “mysteriously” producing the guns that were never found during the raid.
Vusshe cited another instance where two of his boys, A. Nika Yeptho (I.D Card No 25) and N.Inato Swu (ID Card No.29) were frisked by AR troops on June 6 and despite having the identity disclosed, they were detained and interrogated in the camp for over three hours.
CFSB member also informed that on June 7, AR raided the homes of Naga Army personnel Hotoshe and Vinoto in Zunheboto and “harassed” the family members.
He alleged that GPRN/NSCN cadres numbering around 16 in full combat uniforms and arms were being allowed to move about “freely.”
Stating that the motive of AR was “detrimental” to the cease-fire, the CFSB member wanted to know from the chairman as to why NSCN (K) members have been put on “tight leash” while “Khehoi” campers were being let go “scot-free.”
He said that these instances were proof enough of the AR-GPRN/NSCN nexus and warned that AR would be solely responsible for any deterioration in the cease-fire mechanism.
