2 held with fake currency notes

One woman identified as M. Katini (38) daughter of Muky Kaku of Makhan village, Senapati district and her partner Abdul Basit (37) of Assam was apprehended by Special Operations Team (SOT) Dimapur for possessing currency notes Wednesday night.

The duo was caught along with Rs. 25,500 fake notes from one of the hotels located at Golaghat road.
According to Dimapur Police PRO, the SOT team based on specific inputs that a woman was “assisting” some Manipur based armed group (United Revolutionary Front), raided the hotel and seized brand new fake notes of Rs. 500 denomination amounting to Rs. 25,500, three mobile phones, ATM cards and some documents from the accused.

PRO said that police in Manipur has been informed about the case and investigation was on to find the link between the accused and URF.
